The MPOA Finance Committee provides financial oversight for Waterlefe MPOA, a not-for-profit corporation, and advises the Board on appropriate fiscal actions. Its responsibilities include long-range planning, monitoring internal controls, reviewing financial reports, and ensuring budget compliance, legal adherence, and risk protection.
The Committee collaborates with the Board and other committees to interpret financial data and support sound decision-making. While the full Board holds fiduciary responsibility, the Finance Committee serves as its financial steward.
Each year, the Committee helps develop the operating budget with staff and Board members. Monthly, it forecasts cash flow to ensure adequate operating capital and reserve contributions. It also reviews audit findings and tracks any required follow-up.
