📢 Annual Members Meeting & Board of Directors Election | 🗳️ Poll Workers Needed!

It’s that time of year again—our Annual Members Meeting is approaching (January 26), and preparations are underway for election of Directors. Three of the five Directors’ terms are expiring, and those three seats will be open for election. Directors serve for two year terms.

Directors are elected by written ballot, proxy, or electronic voting. Each unit gets one vote; a unit that has two or more owners must designate one of them as the authorized voter. Each household’s designated voter may vote for as many as three nominees. The three nominees with the top three vote totals will be elected to fill the open seats.

Electronic ballots will be tabulated and reported to the MPOA by the independent third-party vendor managing electronic voting. To preserve the integrity of the election process, the rules for written ballots and proxies are very specific, and if not followed, a ballot or proxy will be invalid and will not be counted. Each ballot and proxy will have those specific instructions.

Residents who have not electronically voted before the meeting may vote with a written ballot deposited either at the MPOA Office, or submitted at the meeting site up until the vote is closed by the Chair of the meeting.

We’re looking for Poll Workers to validate and count written ballots and proxies on election day. If you are willing to serve as a poll worker, contact the MPOA Office. A training session will be held before the Annual Meeting.

Officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer) will be selected by the new Board at a separate Board organizational meeting held after the Annual Meeting. An officer need not be a Director. Therefore, the vote totals for the open seats are not relevant to determine officers.

Want a simple, fun way to get involved and support your community? We're looking for a few great volunteers to help count ballots during the upcoming Board of Directors election.

What's involved?

  • A short training session before the Annual Meeting: 1st session: 1/20/26, 3pm-4pm at The River Club

  • Serving as a ballot counter during the Annual Meeting on Monday, January 26 at 6pm

  • Helping ensure a fair and transparent election - homeowners are welcome to watch the count!

Who can volunteer?

  • A Waterlefe homeowner

  • Not related to any current board member or candidate

  • Ready to lend a hand and have a little fun

If you enjoy being part of the action and want to support your community in a meaningful way, this is the perfect opportunity.
