Phillip (Phil) Winkler
Born in Florida and raised in Indiana, I began my Culinary Career at the age of 15 with Lindners' Catering Company. Upon graduating high school, I followed my grandfather's footsteps and joined the United States Marine Corps. After a six-year tour with Operation Desert Storm, I returned home and joined the GCA Gypsy Chefs' Association, traveling and cooking all over Europe. Upon returning to the United States, I attended the Mon Cheri Culinary Academy in Sunnyvale, CA, and then the Florida Culinary Institute in Palm Beach. I gained a wealth of experience working side-by-side with greats like Scott Leibfried (Hell's Kitchen) and Brad Borchardt (P.F. Chang's), and in restaurants like Perry's Steakhouse, Maxwell House Historical Hotel, and Ol' Red (Blake Shelton's eatery). In addition to a passion for cooking, I enjoy playing my trumpet, scuba diving, and doing photography. I am thrilled to have joined The River Club at Waterlefe in May 2025, and I look forward to serving our Members..
